On Saturday 19th February I went to my first Guild meeting. This was the “Three Counties” members meeting (Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire) at the National Star Centre, Ullenwood near Cheltenham. There were two key session which I shall make use of.
The first was a session by Paul Millington on Guild Profiles and Guild Archives. This was easy to understand and something I need to take a close look at.
The second was a session by Alec Tritton on setting up a family History “blog”. This was more complicated probably due to the limited time available which he had to demonstrate how to do it. I will also look at this in more detail. Alec made some useful on line material available to use afterwards as reference.
Overall the meeting was great and although many attending had lots of experience I came away realising that my limited one name study is a lot easier to manage than many more common names.
